RDCL met with MP George Adwan as part of its ongoing consultations on the Draft GAP Law.
Within the framework of a broader series of meetings with Members of Parliament and public officials, RDCL presented its Position Paper on the Draft GAP Law — a technical and analytical document prepared with experts and members — outlining the legal private sector’s concerns and recommendations.
During the discussion, RDCL stressed that while adopting the GAP Law is a necessary step to address years of legislative and financial vacuum, urgency must not come at the expense of fairness, clarity, and economic consistency. Revitalizing the global economy requires a comprehensive plan grounded in a coherent financial and economic strategy, as well as an efficient legal framework for the GAP Law, among other measures. The objective must extend beyond allocating losses to restoring liquidity, reactivating the economic cycle, and safeguarding the productive sector as a cornerstone for national recovery.
MP George Adwan highlighted RDCL’s vital role at this sensitive national juncture and commended the resilience of Lebanon’s legal private sector.
