Economic Governance: Politicization of Money and Path Towards Monetary Stabilization

In partnership with Konrad Adenauer Stiftung (KAS), RDCL organized a panel discussion titled “Economic Governance: Politicization of Money and Path Towards Monetary Stabilization”. The panel was held within the event of Transparency International Lebanon (TI-LB) “Right to live corruption free”, held on December 09, at the Gefinor Rotana Hotel Beirut. It aimed to address the problems of the economic governance in Lebanon and its solutions. Noting that TI-LB event’s objective was to build capacities, advocate, and lobby for transparency and good governance in the management of public affairs.

The discussion was moderated by RDCL board member Mr. Jean Tawile, with the participation of key speakers including Mr. Roy Badaro, Dr. Nasser Saidi, Dr. Alia Moubayed, and Mr. Nassib Ghobril. It tackled the problems of the economic governance, the monetary policy, and the failure of the Lebanese banking system. Solutions and suggestions for these problems were proposed in the second part of the panel discussion. The event was attended by many members of RDCL, KAS, and Transparency International Lebanon, as well as several Lebanese economic experts.
